Construction of a major Harlem project was paused to set up a temporary mosque for a Muslim congregation celebrating Eid al-Fitr after their mosque was damaged by fire. Hundreds gathered in a tent on March 20 to mark the end of Ramadan. Developer Bruce Teitelbaum, an Orthodox Jew, and his partners facilitated this after the Timbuktu Islamic Center was rendered unusable. The tent provided a crucial space for worship, and community members expressed gratitude for the support during this important holiday.
