Retired pediatrician Dr. Flo Rosen, known as 'Ask Bubbie,' advocates for choosing older pediatricians for their extensive experience and wisdom gained over decades. She balances this perspective with the acknowledgment that younger pediatricians are updated on current practices and community resources. Through her social media presence, Rosen connects with millions discussing parenting topics, emphasizing insights drawn from years of practical experience with children. As she enjoys a vast following, she appreciates the support of her audience amidst any criticism of her age.
I would pick an older pediatrician, hands down...you get the wisdom they've earned over the years and the experiences they've incorporated into their intuition and their medical style.
Younger pediatricians are closer to their training and may know more in terms of current parenting styles...but what they don't have is the [same] experience.
It's human nature to want what you can't have...the more you tell a child no, the more they're going to want it.
What I find so incredibly endearing...is that people leap to my defense.
