Upon arrival, officers discovered a second unresponsive person and removed both individuals, transporting them to Cape Cod Hospital. Eight people total were taken to the hospital for evaluation due to carbon monoxide exposure. First responders who assisted were also evaluated for exposure. A mass casualty incident was declared because the number of patients exceeded available ambulances, enabling the town to request assistance from neighboring communities. Power outages from a prior blizzard affected many Provincetown areas at the time of the incident.
