More than 160 individuals are unaccounted for following catastrophic floods in Texas that have resulted in 109 confirmed deaths. The floods struck while residents were sleeping, especially impacting Kerr County, which alone has reported 161 missing persons. Among the casualties are 27 youths from a summer camp who were trapped in rising waters. Rescue operations are ongoing but face difficult conditions due to the debris and hazardous terrain. Governor Abbott expressed concerns over the possibility of the missing count increasing as search efforts continue in the affected areas.

Governor Greg Abbott warned that the number of missing people could still rise further. Just in the Kerr County area alone, there are 161 people who are known to be missing.
Kerr County, located in central Texas's Flash Flood Alley, suffered the most catastrophic impact, with at least 94 confirmed deaths, including at least 27 girls and counsellors at a youth summer camp.
Search and rescue operations using helicopters, drones and dogs face tremendous obstacles due to water and mud, making recoveries hazardous.
