The humanitarian crisis in southwestern Ethiopia is worsening with rising cases of extreme infant hunger and malaria. Humanitarian services are overwhelmed as funding cuts force the closure of nutrition programs in four refugee camps. MSF has seen a 55-percent increase in child admissions at its feeding center in the Kule refugee camp, where patient visits have risen nearly 60 percent year-on-year. The closure of services leaves around 80,000 children under five at risk of life-threatening malnutrition. Gambella region shelters nearly 400,000 refugees, many fleeing violence from South Sudan.
