This resulted in 5,019 De Vielle dual fan electric heaters being recalled, which were sold in dozens of shops across Ireland. Testing by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission found a serious safety risk in De Vielle dual fan electric heaters. 5,019 units, model DEF978005 (barcode 5391520977992, batch numbers 61299–66311), were recalled after tests showed the front grill can break and expose live parts, creating an electric shock hazard. The mini heaters were sold by McLoughlinsRS through over 90 Irish retailers, including Woodie's DIY, Homevalue, and B&Q. Consumers are advised not to use the heaters and to return them for a full refund. The CCPC conducted the tests as part of an EU-wide product safety project.
