NAR appoints Andowah Newton as associate general counsel
Briefly

Newton previously served as vice president of legal affairs and head of litigation at a luxury conglomerate, overseeing legal strategy for over 30 brands. She has a strong background in civil litigation, risk mitigation, and corporate governance. As founder of a youth empowerment nonprofit, she has relevant experience in nonprofit operations. Enthusiastic about her new role at NAR, Newton aims to support members and ensure advocacy for property rights and housing accessibility. Her start date is August 25, following the recent appointment of Waclawski as general counsel.
Newton directed legal strategy for over 30 brands at a global luxury conglomerate, addressing various issues including real estate holdings and corporate governance.
I look forward to supporting our members, protecting the integrity of the profession, and ensuring NAR remains a strong, trusted advocate for property rights and housing access.
Her experience in corporate governance and civil litigation makes her exceptionally well-suited to guide NAR's litigation strategy in this evolving landscape.
Newton is also the founder and president of a youth empowerment nonprofit called The RAN Fund, adding to her credentials in nonprofit governance.
