Cloudflare Launches Public Beta of Secrets Store for Secure Credential Management
Briefly

During Developer Week 2025, Cloudflare announced the public beta of Cloudflare Secrets Store, designed for secure storage of API tokens, keys, and credentials, initially supporting Cloudflare Workers. Previously, developers faced challenges with duplicated secrets across scripts. The new system allows account-level secrets to be shared among Workers, enhancing efficiency. With role-based access control (RBAC) and audit logs, security and change tracking are prioritized, improving overall management and reducing friction. This feature, which had previously raised concerns about its discontinuation, aims to streamline how developers handle sensitive information.
Cloudflare Secrets Store enables developers to securely store and manage the secrets their applications need, from API tokens to request authorization headers.
Now, you can create account-level secrets and variables that can be shared across all Workers scripts, centrally managed and protected within the Secrets Store.
