Sabastian Sawe, 29, won the men's race in 2:02:15, five months after his London Marathon victory. Rosemary Wanjiru won the women's race in 2:21:05, becoming the first Kenyan woman to win Berlin since 2018. Both winning times were notably slower than world records, with Sawe 1:40 behind and Wanjiru 11:49 behind, largely attributed to unusually humid late-summer conditions and temperatures of 23–29°C. Wanjiru surged after 25 kilometers, held a 36-second lead at 40 kilometers, and finished three seconds ahead of Dera Dida. Over 55,000 other participants followed the elite field, including celebrity entrants.
