Kenya's Sawe is world's first man to run a sub-two-hour marathon in London

Sabastian Sawe broke the marathon world record by completing the London Marathon in 1:59:30, surpassing Kelvin Kiptum's previous record of 2:00:35. Sawe, who has never lost a marathon, finished 65 seconds ahead of the previous record. Yomif Kejelcha took second place in 1:59:41, while Jacob Kiplimo secured bronze in 2:02:28. In the women's race, Ethiopia's Tigst Assefa defended her title, finishing in 2:15:41, which was nine seconds faster than her previous best. Hellen Obiri and Joyciline Jepkosgei followed closely behind in personal best times.
