"The Saucony Triumph 23 is a high-cushioned trainer meant for long miles and easier runs, although it struggles to deliver on it's smooth ride and soft cushion. For a high-cushioned shoe, the shoe does not help to absorb each footfall well and thus leaves your legs a little more tired than it should. The shoe also is a bit tight in the toebox which makes me question the long term durability of the upper where my toes can sometimes visibly stick out wide."
"The Triumph is relatively lightweight given it's cushion profile - 42mm of PWRRUN PB superfoam in the heel and 32mm in the forefoot. That's a good amount of cushion to still come in at 9.7 oz for a size 9 men's shoe. The shoe does have a smooth transition and worked really well for me for those middle-distance type runs during my marathon training block."
The Saucony Triumph 23 is a high-cushioned trainer designed for long miles and easier runs, featuring 42mm of PWRRUN PB foam in the heel and 32mm in the forefoot. The shoe manages a relatively light weight of 9.7 oz for a men's US9 despite the thick stack. The upper is plush and pillowy-soft, creating a comfortable on-foot feel. The midsole provides a smooth transition and suits middle-distance runs during marathon training. The shoe underperforms in impact absorption, which can leave legs feeling more fatigued. The toebox runs a bit tight, raising concerns about upper durability and toe splay.
