The Victory Day parade on Red Square will be scaled back, with no military vehicles or heavy weaponry for the first time since 2007. The parade will still feature soldiers marching, but notably, cadets from prestigious military academies will not participate. Traditionally, the event celebrates the defeat of Nazi Germany, but recent parades have also highlighted Russia's military capabilities and the ongoing war in Ukraine, which has resulted in significant casualties.
