Ukraine says it's ready to sign a minerals deal with the U.S.

The United States and Ukraine are about to sign a significant agreement that facilitates a collaborative investment in Ukraine's minerals and natural resources. Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal emphasized that this partnership, led by Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, will enhance Ukraine's reconstruction efforts. The deal is structured as a 50-50 investment partnership and may also allow for military assistance to be incorporated into the investment fund, marking a turnaround from previous negotiations which were deemed unbeneficial for Ukraine.

The investment fund would be a 50-50 partnership with the U.S. and would assist Ukraine's reconstruction and development.

This is a very good partnership agreement that provides for huge benefits and investments for our country, and provides for the possibility of receiving military assistance from the United States.

The American side can also count new military aid to Ukraine as a contribution to this fund.

Once the deal is signed, it still must be approved by Ukraine parliament.
