Jill Sobule, a bisexual musician celebrated for her 1995 anthem "I Kissed a Girl," died in a house fire in Woodbury, Minnesota, at 66. Sobule was rehearsing for a performance of her autobiographical show, "Fuck 7th Grade," scheduled in Denver. Her hit song was notable for being one of the first to feature overtly queer themes in the Billboard Top 20. A vocal advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, Sobule often spoke about her bisexual identity and the stigma it carries within both straight and gay communities.
I used to think that when people said they were bisexual, they were just copping out because they didn't want to admit they were full-fledged queers.
I believe there's a whole spectrum of sexuality.
