"Our Krewe de Kinque King & Queen XXII John M. Brett & Olivia Hart led our Second Line parade & we enjoyed John's plentiful snacks & Emily's Mardi Gras cupcakes. Thanks too to Brent Marek for the delicious Jell-O shots that helped us raise funds for Openhouse, the beneficiary for our March 15th Krewe de Kinque Bal Masque XXIII at The Cafe."
Krewe de Kinque, a volunteer charitable social club founded by Gary Virginia, organized its annual Fat Tuesday Pub Crawl on February 17, 2026. Participants visited six bars in the Castro District: 440 Castro, Midnight Sun, Moby Dick, Lookout, Twin Peaks Tavern, and returned to 440 Castro. The event featured special guests, drinks, and homemade King Cake Cupcakes. King and Queen XXII John M. Brett and Olivia Hart led a Second Line parade. The pub crawl included Jell-O shots that helped raise funds for Openhouse, the beneficiary organization. Prior to the crawl, Krewe de Kinque held a Valentine's Bake Sale on February 13 that raised $704 for Openhouse. The organization's next event is the Krewe de Kinque Bal Masque XXIII on March 15 at The Cafe, which will also serve as an Academy Awards watch party.
