"Alebrijes En San José" is an installation of eight 22-foot tall sculptures created by Oaxacan artisans, reflecting Zapotec legends and the Alebrije art form. Each sculpture is crafted from fiberglass and reinforced metal, weighing over 1,200 pounds. The installation will debut at San Jose Jazz Summerfest and will be on view through Sept. 28. This installation of Alebrijes will be open at Plaza de Cesar Chavez through Sept. 28 as part of a two-year North American tour, starting with the San Jose Jazz Summerfest.
