Primary Colors, a Bay Area duo comprising guitarist Rick Vandiver and singer Nate Pruitt, pays tribute to Muscle Shoals, Alabama, a historic music hub. The region housed two influential studios: Muscle Shoals Sound Studio and FAME, where legendary artists including Bob Dylan, the Staple Singers, Bob Seger, Traffic, Elton John, Willie Nelson, Otis Redding, and Aretha Franklin recorded groundbreaking music. The Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, known as the Swampers, provided instrumental foundation for these celebrated recordings. This project celebrates the enduring legacy and cultural significance of these studios in shaping popular music history.
