The Robert D. and Winifred L. Winn House, a Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Usonian-style home in Kalamazoo, MI, saw a substantial price reduction of $1 million after nearly 12 months listed for sale. Originally priced at $1.85 million, it entered the market in June 2024 but struggled to attract buyers until reduced to $850,000. The sellers, who invested heavily in renovations since purchasing in 2012, opted for a quick sale. The reduced price generated significant interest from buyers, ultimately leading to a successful offer from a Midwesterner planning to use the home part-time.
The amount of interest was astronomical at that price," Taber shares, noting that he received inquiries from around the worldâalthough the winning offer came from another Midwesterner who plans to use the home as a part-time residence.
For personal reasons, they wanted to go for a quick sale," Taber explains.
The purchase represents a bountiful bargain for the buyer, not least because of all the money the most recent residents spent ensuring the home was in top condition.
The home, known as the Robert D. and Winifred L. Winn House, faced a serious struggle to find a buyer.
