"Rupchand Simboo, 75, of 135th Street in South Ozone Park, was charged at the 116th Precinct stationhouse on March 11 for allegedly murdering his wife, Salisha Ali, 34, and then dumping her dismembered torso inside a marshy area of Idlewild Park, not far from JFK Airport."
"NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny, who spoke about the grisly find in the days following the discovery, said the workers came upon the remains after they smelled a foul odor while performing a roadside cleanup. It had several unique and identifiable tattoos which were visible and not decomposed."
"The Medical Examiner's office conducted a further investigation, which determined how she had been dismembered. The doctor further states that he believes that straight edge instruments, such as a knife was used to cut through the soft tissue."
Rupchand Simboo, 75, was charged with murdering his wife Salisha Ali, 34, and dismembering her body. Ali's head was discovered on March 5 in Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, and her torso was found on September 23, 2025, in Idlewild Park near JFK Airport by sanitation workers who detected a foul odor. Police recovered additional body parts during an extensive search. The Medical Examiner determined she was dismembered using straight-edge instruments such as a knife. Simboo was arrested on March 11 at the 116th Precinct stationhouse. The exact cause of death remained undetermined at the time of reporting.
