Vivian Alexandra Gomez, an unlicensed cosmetologist, was found guilty of felony involuntary manslaughter after performing illegal silicone buttock injections on model Christina Ashten Gourkani. The procedure took place in a Burlingame hotel, where Gourkani became ill and died from respiratory failure the following day. Gomez traveled from Florida to the Bay Area for the procedure. She is scheduled for sentencing in May.
