San Francisco will hold a free outdoor Celebration of Life for Claude, the albino alligator who lived at the California Academy of Sciences for nearly two decades. The main event will be Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Golden Gate Bandshell in Golden Gate Park. Additional programs, crafts, and an artisan marketplace with Claude-themed souvenirs will run inside the California Academy of Sciences from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and museum tickets are required for indoor access. ASL interpretation and accessible seating will be provided. The main stage program will be livestreamed. Parking is very limited; walking, biking, or transit is recommended.
