Shireen Afkari, identified as a senior manager of growth marketing and retention at Strava, was arrested for public intoxication after an altercation at Hazie's in Hayes Valley. Video of the incident shows Afkari yelling at staff, filming them, and physically assaulting employees alongside a companion; the footage includes her pulling a bartender's hair while others pleaded for her to stop. Staff eventually escorted the pair outside where the struggle continued. Bartender Miguel Marchese described such incidents as part of the life of bartending and said he does not plan to press charges. Strava said it does not condone violence and ended Afkari's employment.
