Jones is under contract with the 49ers for the 2026 season after signing a two-year contract in free agency last year. Stepping in for Purdy in eight games this season, Jones kept the 49ers in the playoff mix as they went 5-3 in games he started."

That production came after posting QBRs of 38.4, 37.5 and 36.6 in his three previous seasons split between the New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars. A 2021 first-round pick of the Patriots, Jones has thrown for 12,741 yards with 67 touchdowns and 50 interceptions in five seasons."
