"Things started out well as Emmet Sheehan was nearly unhittable once again as he continues to show his top-of-the-rotation ability. The right-hander pitched seven shutout innings while allowing just one hit, striking out 10 and walking no one. That tied Sheehan's season-high in strikeouts, which he last did on Aug. 25 against the Cincinnati Reds. It's also his career-high, which he first set on Sept. 27, 2023 against the Colorado Rockies."
"But once Sheehan was out of the game, things went down hill quickly for the Dodgers. Blake Treinen entered and immediately allowed two singles to start the Giants' rally. Patrick Bailey then doubled to tie the game and put two more in scoring position. Rafael Devers was intentionally walked to load the bases and set up the double play, but that backfired. Treinen walked Willy Adames, which brought in the go-ahead run for the Giants."
Emmet Sheehan dominated with seven shutout innings, allowing one hit, striking out 10 and issuing no walks. Trevor McDonald matched that strength for the Giants with six shutout innings while allowing four hits. The Dodgers scored in the seventh when Max Muncy walked, Andy Pages singled and Michael Conforto delivered an RBI single. Once Sheehan left, Blake Treinen allowed two singles, a Patrick Bailey double and a walk to Willy Adames that produced the go-ahead run. The Dodgers could not mount a comeback. Dodgers home attendance surpassed four million for the first time, finishing at 4,012,470 with a 49,537 average.
