The Walker family from Marin County is missing following a severe flash flood in Central Texas. Mark Walker, his wife Sara, and their son Johnny were vacationing when the disaster occurred. Mark's daughter Ellie was rescued. The family last communicated on Thursday, after which their home along the Guadalupe River was destroyed. A vigil was held for the Walkers, while Marin Catholic High School is supporting the community with prayer services. The flooding impacted Camp Mystic as well, resulting in multiple fatalities and missing individuals, prompting criticism towards Texas officials for preparedness.
Hundreds gathered for a vigil Sunday in Marin County for Mark Walker, Sara Walker and their 14-year-old son, Johnny, who are missing following a flash flood.
Mark's mother, Kathy, expressed her despair, stating, 'I'm sick to my stomach. It's a terrible feeling, because you're helpless here.'
Mark's son, Johnny, was set to be a freshman at Marin Catholic High School, prompting the school to announce a prayer service for the Walker family.
Friday's flash flooding also claimed the lives of over two dozen people at Camp Mystic, with still 10 counselors and campers unaccounted for.
