"Charlie Duke, the Apollo 16 moon walker, sent a heartfelt message to the Artemis II crew, stating, 'I pray it reminds you that we in America and all of the world are cheering you on.'"
"The Orion crew survival system suits are designed to protect astronauts during launch and splashdown, providing up to six days of air in case of depressurization."
"The crew practiced emergency procedures by quickly donning their bright-orange suits and climbing into their seats, testing their ability to eat and drink through helmet ports."
"An important milestone on day five was the Outbound Trajectory Correction-3 burn, which involved a brief firing of Orion's auxiliary thrusters to maintain the spacecraft's course."
On Easter Sunday, the Artemis II crew celebrated day five in space with a wake-up call featuring CeeLo Green's music and a message from Apollo 16's Charlie Duke. Duke's message reminded the crew of global support for their mission. The crew, including Reid Wiseman, Christina Koch, Jeremy Hansen, and Victor Glover, conducted tests on their Orion crew survival system suits, which can provide air in emergencies. They practiced donning the suits and tested eating and drinking through helmet ports. Additionally, they performed a trajectory correction burn to ensure their path to the moon.
