Massive BART expansion in South Bay to displace longtime San Jose natural stone supplier
Briefly

Silicon Valley Granite, owned by Sridhar Kollareddy, faces eviction due to eminent domain by the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority, with a deadline to vacate by April 30. Kollareddy possesses a vast inventory of over 7,000 stone slabs, worth millions. Long-standing negotiations over compensation and moving dates remain unresolved, leading to potential loss of his assets. While the VTA argues that Kollareddy had multiple deadlines to relocate, he maintains that he will leave once compensated fairly. A trial to determine compensation is scheduled for October, allowing him to contest the eviction process further.
"I have granite, marble, quartz, quartzite," Kollareddy listed off.
"The moment that they pay me, I'll move out," Kollareddy said.
"A couple of million," Kollareddy said.
"So they can wait until then. Let the trial decide what happens to the balance," Kollareddy said.
