Santa Clara County opens new residential mental health facility - San Jose Spotlight
Briefly

The newly opened Vermont House in San Jose, Santa Clara County, is designed to provide a safe and healing environment for individuals facing mental health issues and substance use disorders. The facility consists of two houses, each accommodating up to 15 residents, who will receive personalized recovery plans, psychiatric services, and case management assistance. This initiative, overseen by Community Solutions, aims to support residents in regaining stability and transitioning into permanent housing, while fostering a sense of home and care within the community.
Transitional housing has allowed Mark, who was formerly homeless, to gain stability. After getting a roof over his head, he found the support he needed to rebuild his life.
County Supervisor Susan Ellenberg stated, "When residents walk through here, my anticipation and hope is that they immediately feel at home, that they feel well taken care of."
