Race officials canceled the event after three of the first six racers crashed. Vonn, 41, led the downhill circuit this season with two wins and three other podiums after returning from a partial right-knee replacement. The crash occurred one week before the Milan-Cortina opening ceremony; Vonn planned to race the Olympic downhill, super-G and the team combined event.
