"Settting the pace on run 1 was Germany's Lena Dürr with a time of 50.93 seconds. Dürr was promptly pipped by Camille Rast im bib 2 by 0.33 seconds before Mikaela Shiffrin in bib 7 stormed ahead into the lead, a staggering 0.83 seconds ahead of Rast. The American attacked the course with her trademark precision and aggression, managing the steep terrain and rhythm changes better than anyone else in the field."
"However, for many others the first run immediately showed just how demanding the Courchevel course can be. The steep pitch and aggressive set claimed several major names from the top 7, who benefit from a special bib lottery: last season's Slalom crystal globe winner Zrinka Ljutic in bib 3, Albanian-Italian Lara Colturi in bib 5, as well as Katharina Liensberger in bib 6. In total, 17 skiers ended with the dreaded DNF behind their names."
Mikaela Shiffrin won the Courchevel night slalom, securing her fourth straight slalom victory of the season and the 105th World Cup win of her career. Camille Rast finished second and Emma Aicher third; Aicher had won the Downhill in St. Moritz three days earlier. Lena Dürr paced the first run before Rast briefly led and Shiffrin surged into a commanding lead. The steep Courchevel pitch and aggressive set produced 17 DNFs, eliminating several top contenders including Zrinka Ljutic, Lara Colturi, and Katharina Liensberger. Paula Moltzan qualified ninth. The second run featured a deteriorating surface and deep ruts that increased the challenge, but Shiffrin maintained control to win.
