After a week of photographing wildlife in Denali National Park, the author seeks relaxation at Alyeska Resort but is unexpectedly faced with his fear of heights by walking the Veilbreaker bridges. Almost 2,500 feet above the valley floor, the two bridges span 410 feet and offer stunning views of the Chugach mountains. Despite initial confidence from watching fellow guests cross, anxiety sets in as preparation begins.
