Antony completed a permanent €22 million transfer from Manchester United to Real Betis and signed a contract running until June 2030 while accepting a wage cut. The word "Iluminado," meaning "enlightened," is tattooed across the front of his neck and carries personal significance related to his background and experiences. Betis created a clothing line inspired by that tattoo, offering pre-order T-shirts at €24.95 and designing hoodies and other garments for release before Christmas, with Antony receiving royalties. The merchandising concept emerged during August contract negotiations. Antony returned after a successful loan, turned down Bayern Munich, and boosted the club's digital following and shirt sales.
