Numerous goalkeepers have been linked with the club as potential long-term replacements. Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Verbruggen has been repeatedly connected with Bayern across multiple years. Verbruggen described links to big clubs as a compliment and said he has not given the matter much thought. He stated that his agent handles transfer speculation and that he will be informed if concrete offers or decisions emerge. With the summer window closed, Jonas Urbig will receive an opportunity to step in for Neuer in the meantime.
