Dortmund and Kovac aiming to end 2025 on a high against uncomfortable Gladbach - Soccer News
"Gladbach has stabilised, they've made good progress. An uncomfortable team that will defend well. Our clear ambition is to win the last game of the year 2025,"
"We as a team have made good progress and are in a better position compared to last year,"
"We need the stadium - it has magic and energy. Very often we need a boost from the stands - it helps to decide the games in our favour."
Niko Kovac plans to end 2025 positively as Borussia Dortmund host Borussia Monchengladbach, with a win able to lift Dortmund to second temporarily. Kovac transformed Dortmund after replacing Nuri Sahin in January, taking them from 11th to Champions League positions and producing 18 wins and 61 goals since his arrival, behind only Bayern Munich. Dortmund have 29 points after 14 games, their best start since 2021-22. Kovac warns Gladbach will be a stern defensive test despite sitting 11th. Kovac highlights the importance of the stadium atmosphere and internal competition at full-back between Julian Ryerson and Yan Couto.
