Ex-Manchester Utd and Liverpool rivals lined up for huge charity boxing night after London show
"We have got one event at the Grosvenor Hotel on the 18th, said Stack. We will then go to Liverpool or Manchester in June. We will have 10 northern-based fighters there, who have probably played for more northern-based clubs. It will be exactly the same format, exactly the same kind of structure, exactly the same kind of entertainment with a Q&A in the ring."
"This time we have got Ray Parlour, Paul Merson and Crouchy (Peter Crouch). Then we have got live performers and DJs after the event. We would go up to Liverpool or Manchester, doing something very similar. We would probably work with two local charities based up there. We will try get a lot of the northern-based trainers and champions in - the Smith brothers, Tony Bellew, people like that."
A charity boxing gala called A Night To Remember will take place at the Grosvenor Hotel in London on October 18. The headline bout pairs former Tottenham winger David Bentley against ex-Chelsea midfielder Jody Morris. Additional fights include Curtis Davies v Paddy Kenny, Leroy Lita v David Noble, Lee Trundle v Anthony Gardner and Greg Halford v Marvin Elliott. The event aims to raise 500,000 for Helping Hands, The Willow Foundation and Sport In Mind. Organizers plan a June follow-up in Liverpool or Manchester featuring northern-based fighters and a return London show next October.
