Cristian Romero signed a long-term Tottenham contract through 2029 and was named club captain after Son's move to Los Angeles FC. Romero has started every game under new manager Thomas Frank, helping Spurs keep three clean sheets in their first four Premier League matches. Romero joined initially on loan from Atalanta in 2021 and helped win last season's Europa League.
