Leclerc takes shock pole at Hungarian GP
Briefly

Charles Leclerc achieved an unexpected pole position for Ferrari at the Hungarian Grand Prix with a time of 1:15.372. He narrowly beat championship leader Oscar Piastri by 0.026 seconds, while Lando Norris finished in third place, just 0.015 seconds behind Piastri. Norris had set the fastest time in Q2 but struggled in Q3 due to changing conditions. Leclerc expressed his surprise at the result, stating he faced difficulties throughout the qualifying rounds and considered this achievement one of the best unexpected pole positions of his career.
"Today I don't understand anything in Formula 1. Honestly, the whole qualifying has been extremely difficult. When I say extremely difficult, it's not exaggerating."
"It was difficult for us to get to Q2, it was difficult for us to get to Q3 ... I knew I just had to do a clean lap to target third and at the end of the day it's pole position."
"Honestly, I have no words. It's probably one of the best pole positions I've ever had. It's the most unexpected, for sure."
