Orient sign keeper Bachmann on loan from Watford
""As a goalkeeper, I am an organiser and like to be a voice in the changing room, which is really important in any team," Bachmann told Orient's club website, external. "I feel like I am coming into the prime years of my playing career and am looking forward to getting back playing and helping the club move up the table, whilst also supporting the goalkeepers' union.""
""We need a goalkeeper. We need a man - who is coming for crosses, that organises the defence, that is vocal, has character, personality and once we get that, we might start seeing clean sheets," Wellens said."
Daniel Bachmann has joined Leyton Orient on loan from Watford until the end of the season after Watford cut short his season-long loan at Deportivo La Coruna, where he made no appearances. He has spent most of his career in England and has 14 caps for Austria, last appearing in September 2023. Bachmann is described as an organiser and vocal presence in the changing room and expects to be entering the prime years of his playing career while helping Orient climb the League One table and supporting the goalkeepers' union. The signing addresses Richie Wellens' need for an experienced, commanding goalkeeper after Tommy Simkin returned to Stoke City; Bachmann is Orient's fourth January signing and is expected to debut against Port Vale.
