Raheem Sterling transfer difficult due to 'significant' financial demands - Napoli chief
""Raheem is very good, but he hasn't been playing for a long time," Manna told Sky Italia on Wednesday."
""We spoke with him during the summer but I see it as difficult right now, he has significant financial expectations.""
Raheem Sterling became a free agent after Chelsea and Sterling agreed to terminate his contract. He made 81 appearances and scored 19 goals during a three-and-a-half-year spell at Chelsea, with his last appearance for the club in May 2024. Sterling spent the 2025–26 season on loan at Arsenal, and his final competitive match came on the season's last day at Southampton. Napoli view Sterling's extended absence from regular play and his significant financial expectations as obstacles to completing a transfer. West Ham and Fulham expressed earlier interest. Chelsea beat Napoli 3-2 in Italy to reach the Europa League round of 16.
