Sifu developer Sloclap is releasing a new soccer game named Rematch, which presents a unique take on traditional soccer by limiting teams to five players each. Set 40 years in the future, the game does away with conventional rules like fouls and offsides, providing a semi-arcade experience that can include varying team sizes. Although cross-play capabilities will not be available at launch, Sloclap is committed to introducing this feature in a later update. The game is available for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers on launch day, June 19, 2025.
Crossplay between Steam, PlayStation & Xbox won't be available at launch, but it's one of our top priorities for upcoming updates!
The game is set 40 years in the future, offering fundamental changes to soccer such as no fouls, offsides, or penalty kicks.
Rematch embraces a semi-arcade style, cutting soccer teams down to five teammates on each side, with 3v3 and 4v4 match options.
GameSpot's preview praised Rematch for making soccer feel like an intense team sport, with the whole match played inside a cage.
