"Officers were called by a member of the public to attend Bowlacre Road, Hyde, Tameside, at 6:45am today where they found the body of a 46-year-old man," Greater Manchester Police said in a statement. "There are not currently believed to be any suspicious circumstances." Friends of Hatton were quick to pay tribute Sunday morning."

Ricky Hatton, a former world champion at light-welterweight and welterweight, was found dead at his home in Greater Manchester at age 46. Greater Manchester Police said officers were called to Bowlacre Road, Hyde, Tameside at 6:45 a.m. and that there are not currently believed to be any suspicious circumstances. Friends and fellow fighters paid tribute, including Amir Khan, Tyson Fury and Manny Pacquiao. Hatton had not fought since a 2012 loss to Vyacheslav Senchenko and had recently announced a planned return to boxing in December against Eisa Al Dah in Dubai. Hatton fought top opponents including Kostya Tszyu, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.
