Scotland to assess Gilmour knee injury after win over Curacao
Scotland beat Curacao 4-1 at Hampden Park after coming from behind against 10-man opponents. Tahith Chong gave Curacao a surprise lead, and Jurgen Locadia was sent off for an off-the-ball elbow on Aaron Hickey. Billy Gilmour was withdrawn shortly after the incident, with Findlay Curtis equalizing just before half-time. Lawrence Shankland scored twice to put Scotland ahead, and Ryan Christie added a late penalty. Steve Clarke said Gilmour’s injury severity is uncertain and will be assessed overnight. Scotland will travel to the United States on Sunday for a final pre-tournament friendly against Bolivia in New Jersey next Saturday, then begin the 2026 World Cup against Haiti in Foxborough on June 13, with Morocco and Brazil also in Group C.
""We're not too sure how bad Billy Gilmour's injury is right now," Clarke told BBC Scotland. "He will be assessed overnight, fingers crossed that the wee man is fine."
