CAF imposed multiple disciplinary measures after the Africa Cup of Nations final between Senegal and Morocco. Pape Thiaw received a five-match ban and a $100,000 (£72,000) fine for ordering his players off after two late decisions, including a disallowed goal and a penalty awarded to Morocco. Senegal returned and eventually won 1-0 in extra-time after Brahim Diaz missed the spot-kick. Everton's Iliman Ndiaye and Crystal Palace's Ismaila Sarr received two-match bans. Achraf Hakimi was given a two-match ban with one suspended. Ismael Saibari received a three-match ban and a $100,000 (£72,000) fine. The Senegal Football Federation was fined $615,000 (£445,000). The Moroccan Federation was fined $200,000 (£144,000) for stadium ball boys and $115,000 (£83,000) for player and supporter conduct. All sanctions apply only to CAF matches and do not affect World Cup preparations. Saibari's fine relates to attempts with ball boys to snatch a towel from Senegal goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
