Giuseppe Commisso was appointed to succeed Rocco Commisso as Fiorentina president following a board decision, keeping the New York-based family in charge. Catherine Commisso was named to the club's board of directors. Giuseppe committed to carrying forward his father's legacy and the vision built for Fiorentina, and to strengthening the club while respecting its values, history, and bond with the city and supporters. The board decision came 10 days after Rocco Commisso died. Fiorentina sits 18th in Serie A and in the relegation zone. The team will host Como in the Italian Cup round of 16 later Tuesday.
