Murphy joined the 2026 NWSL expansion team as a free agent after playing for the North Carolina Courage since 2021. She served as the backup goalkeeper to Alyssa Naeher at the 2023 World Cup and the 2024 Olympics, where the United States won gold. Murphy has 20 international caps, last appearing in October 2024. She became the Courage's all-time leader in regular-season wins and previously played for OL Reign and NJ/NY Gotham FC.
