St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson expressed he was unaware of the circumstances preventing Malik Dijksteel from playing in a recent match for Cork City. Following St Mirren's announcement of a pre-contract signing agreement with Dijksteel, Cork's manager indicated that Dijksteel's agent cited personal reasons for his unavailability. Robinson clarified that Dijksteel remains a Cork player until the season concludes and emphasized the need for agreement between both clubs to facilitate his move. He also indicated a need to potentially off-load players to create space for new signings.
Robinson mentioned, "I'm not so sure he did make himself unavailable, I have no idea. I'm sure, if he's under contract, he's available to play."
Cork manager Gerard Nash stated, "Unfortunately, since then, Malik's agent made it clear that he was unavailable for this match for personal reasons."
