An industry-focused technology hub in Biel/Bienne provides startups and nonprofits access to private 5G and AI-powered edge services with a full-scale industrial testbed. The hub enables trialling real-time AI and private 5G offerings without infrastructure costs to validate use cases such as predictive maintenance, push-to-talk and video communications, and AI-enhanced safety monitoring. Partners aim to advance energy-efficient automation and reduce environmental impact while maintaining productivity. Natural human-machine interaction is enabled through generative AI-driven digital assistants for conversational control. Available infrastructure includes Nokia Digital Automation Cloud private wireless, MX Industrial Edge, and MX Workmate, an OT-compliant GenAI solution for connected workers.
