Foundation's timeline covers centuries, with the first three seasons each separated by over a hundred years and totaling more than 300 years of future history. The Season 3 finale ended unusually and appears to change the series' direction. Apple TV+ confirmed a fourth season just before Season 3's final episode. Ian Goldberg and David Kob will serve as co-showrunners into Season 4. No official release date has been announced; prior seasons arrived roughly every two years, making 2027 a reasonable estimate. Early in 2025, producer and showrunner David S. Goyer revealed he would "step back" from the series.
