Apple's sci-fi detective show Sugar is coming back in June
"Here's the set-up for the new season, via Apple: Colin Farrell returns for a new case, tracking the troubled older brother of an up-and-coming local boxer as his search for his beloved missing sister continues. As the investigation expands into a city-wide conspiracy with sinister intentions, Sugar must reckon with himself to answer the question - how far will he go to do what's right?"
"Sugar joins a growing list of shows returning to Apple TV this year, as the streaming service aims to reach larger audiences. Both Shrinking (season 3) and Drops of God (season 2) are currently streaming again, while the likes of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (February 27th), For All Mankind (March 27th), and Your Friends and Neighbors (April 3rd) are also returning. And just this week Apple announced that the much-anticipated fourth season of Ted Lasso will be streaming this summer."
Season 2 of Sugar premieres on June 19th and will run for eight episodes. Season 1 premiered in 2024 and combined a noir detective core with a mid-season twist that integrated science fiction elements. Colin Farrell returns as detective John Sugar. New cast members include Jin Ha, Raymond Lee, Tony Dalton, Laura Donnelly, Sasha Calle, and Shea Whigham. Season 2 follows Sugar tracking the troubled older brother of an up-and-coming local boxer while searching for a beloved missing sister, as the investigation expands into a city-wide conspiracy and forces Sugar to confront how far he will go to do what is right. Sugar joins Apple TV's slate of returning shows in 2026.
