Emma Raducanu is working with Rafael Nadal's ex-coach Francis Roig in preparation for the US Open. Previously, she had been informally training with British coach Mark Petchey. Roig's extensive experience includes being part of all 22 of Nadal's Grand Slam victories. Raducanu is competing in the Cincinnati Open and hopes to improve her performance through collaborations with Roig. Her recent performances include reaching the semi-finals at the Washington Open and facing difficulties at the Canadian Open against Amanda Anisimova. Raducanu is focusing on enhancing her shot quality in upcoming matches.
"He's obviously got a bank of experience and I'm very excited to continue working with him and to have him on my side," Raducanu told Sky Sports.
"I'm working on the quality of my shots to be better," she said. "I think against the very top, that's what it needs, it needs to improve."
